Kouzina restaurant opened in March 2007 in the Southgate Arts and Leisure Precinct in Southbank. Kouzina offers a unique, modern approach to Greek cuisine, along with stunning views of the Yarra river and Melbourne city skyline.

LOCATION
On the former site of acclaimed Mecca restaurant, Kouzina is centrally located in Southbank on the banks of the Yarra river opposite Flinders Street Station.

DETAILS
Kouzina is Greek for kitchen, and this particular kitchen allows the owners of the popular Mykonos Cafe to expand upon their special brand of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Deconstructing traditional Greek recipes and ingredients, Kouzina creates innovative dishes adapted to a modern Australian palate.

FUNCTIONS
Ideal for a romantic dinner, Kouzina has a private dining room and also caters for corporate lunches. Ask about the special pre-theatre menu.

There’s still a faint Mecca feel to this new creative Greek eatery but there are some definite changes too such as the removal of banquettes in favour of regular seating so that every table within the dining room has a view. The name has changed too. Kouzina, which means kitchen in Greek, is now ready to wow Melbourne with its creative take on a much loved cuisine.

Executive Chef and owner Theo Kostoglou is no stranger to the industry with six restaurants under his belt including the Knox favourite Mykonos. Kouzina is his chance to be creative with the cuisine from his ancestry and our chance to enjoy something out of the ordinary. Choose from the great value Lunch and Pre Theatre offerings, $29.50 and $39.50 respectively, with a choice of two courses and a glass of wine, or choose directly from the a la carte menu. Start with an entrée of octapodi toursi: pickled octopus served with fava scented with truffle oil, red onions, kalamata olive, potato salad, arugula and Tasmanian salmon roe, followed by the souvlaki hirino: baby pork tenderloin kebab served with a lemon pilaf, brunoise of Greek salad, and tzatziki. Finish with the Turkish baklava made with apricots, cashews, pistachios served with vanilla bean ice-cream. An excellent and extensive wine list is offered.
