Leigh Street is probably the closest you’ll get to one of Paris’s quaint little laneways in Adelaide and The Corner Bistrot is probably the closest you’ll get to get to an authentic French corner bistro. The dining room is long and narrow with high ceilings and an interior balcony overlooking the restaurant below.

Linen-clad tables dot the space and the colour scheme consists of warm, woody browns and tans. Outdoor tables complete the picture of an intimate and charming local bistro that local fans rave about.

Chef and owner Vic Larosa trained in France and his menu is filled with classic French recipes which are full of flavour. The bread is made in-house and the sauces are all made from scratch. Try the escargots (a must for any authentic French eatery) or the pate de foie de canard (duck liver pate) for entrée. Mains include the popular bavette a l`echalotte sauce vin rouge (skirt steak with shallot and red wine sauce) and
escalope de veau a la creme (a tender slice of veal cooked in a cream sauce). Finish with the cheese platter and you will be well rewarded, however the creme brulee is equally good. The wine list includes a selection of good French and Australian wines and there are some cellar selections for those who want something special.
