The dishes we in Australia instantly recognise as Indonesian grace the pages, interspersed with less common, but nonetheless enticing, meals. Expect nasi and mi goreng in the traditional style with lots of egg and fried onion on top. These rice and noodle dishes are common Indonesian fare served alongside fried fish or mouth-watering beef rendang. There are also many tempeh and tofu dishes for vegetarians.
This family run restaurant is a favourite in West End due to the warm and welcoming customer service, and a passion for all things Indonesian (Friday and Saturday nights Mono sings and plays the organ in grand Indonesian bravado for patrons). It's also a popular venue for functions, with many a weekend seeing the restaurant filled to the brim with happy voices. The restaurant has a BYO alcohol policy but a wide range of Indonesian drinks are available to try, from avocado juice and es campur (a sweet crushed ice and jelly drink) to traditional teas and coffees.
