PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAAmici’s Italian Restaurant at South Bank Parklands has everything you could want in a family restaurant – a spacious courtyard, a great menu suitable for fussy children, and a beautiful stream outside which is home to many native lizards. The staff are also exceptionally friendly and love kids. With a menu to suit all budgets, the menu ranges from simple garlic pizza breads to steaks and chicken dishes. Amici’s is primarily family orientated, yet can cater for all occasions and prides itself on being able to accommodate large tables, so a table of 20 can easily walk in off the street and be seated and served quickly. Those with dietary requirements are also taken care of, with gluten-free and dairy free pizza bases, plus a great range of vegetarian fare on offer.
For children, one of the restaurant’s biggest drawcards is a giant statue of an elephant in the courtyard – your little ones may find it very difficult to leave its side. When they find their way back to the table, booster seats and high chairs make dining a little easier for parents. Amici’s has a seating capacity of 340, with much of this alfresco. Wheelchair access is also available.
