High tea is pretty great all on its own, but the Top of The World Restaurant has just found a way to make it just that tad bit better. The secret? Throw in some amazing views into the mix of gourmet sandwiches, scones, sweets and tea. This restaurant, located in beautiful seaside Glenelg, delivers 360 degree views of Adelaide, which is not a bad way to spend a cultured afternoon.
Taking place every Friday and Sunday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm at the Eclipse Lounge, the High Tea on Top of the World is a world of delight that begins with gourmet finger smoked salmon and dill cream cheese sandwiches, assorted baked savoury pastry triangles, delicate vol au vent pastry cases with savoury fillings and then moves onto light fluffy scones served with strawberry conserve and whipped Chantilly cream, sweet filled shortcrust tartlets, house-made chocolate truffles and other sweets. Naturally everything is accompanied by a pot of tea and, for special occasions (or maybe just because), you can pair your experience with a bottle of Versace Sparkling Bel Muscato or Lanson Black Label Champagne.
