I have a three year old little girl, and all I want is to have a nice lunch with my family on the sunny balcony of Cafe Sydney overlooking Sydney Harbour! They have great service, great food but best of all, they cater to children! I was surprised last time I got there that Lana was offered coloured pencils to colour-in the children's menu (printed in the middle of an elaborate picture, she spent the rest of our lunch colouring in)! And they also said that if we needed more, they could bring out a portable DVD player for her to use at the table. They had it all covered and it was the most relaxing lunch. If I could have a repeat of that for Mother's Day I'd be happy! :)

i think what mothers want is for their children to phone them up if they are going to be late no matter what time of the evening or morning it is, just to give the reassurance that they are safe... and of course, to be showered with breakfast in bed of eggs benedict, cappucino, haighs and tulips...

I would love to be told occasionally (and I stress ...occasionally) by my husband or anyone of my adult daughters...'put your feet up 'cause I will be cooking dinner tonight'. It would be such a welcome change and so nice to hear!!

Well, this year Mother's Day falls on May 9th - my expected due date for my 2nd baby, so I guess odds are I'll be in hospital! In that case, I would like a complication-free (and pain-free?!?!) birth, with a happy healthy bub at the end of it all! Oh and plenty of cuddles from my 2-yr-old daughter, and maybe my husband can provide a well-deserved glass of red!

Not being a mother i can only imagine what my mum wants. You have all suggested a wonderful concoction of delightful treats, but i imagine all my mum wants is my sister and I with our husbands in tow for an extended weekend, eating, drinking and generally being merry! Oh and don't forget a healthy dose of shopping, with the emphasis on shoes, for good measure!

Wow, my mind wanders to all the joy, laughter and warmth that comes as you watch your children grow. No matter what age they are, there is always a smile or cheer to be had or shared. Mothers Day for me is ever so special, but so is every other day too. If i had my wish, it would be Bilson's of Sydney, fine dining , great service, what a terrific experience. And then im happy to share a meal anywhere with my girls, i hope you all have a lovely day.

Hmmm, What Mothers Want?? WHAT A QUESTION - where do i start??!
How about: *acknowledgement of our efforts - from hubby's for getting kids to school, sporting events, parties, dressed, fed, cleaned, all without a complaint? *to shower alone! that means door shut, kids out, It's my 10minutes of 'down time', I don't want to have to be yelling at them to shut the bathroom cabinet door, while I'm washing the soap off my face! (speaking of babies and toddlers here of course!!) *Time to myself, to do whatever it is that I want!
But for Mothers Day I'm just asking for a sleep in, and a picnic in the park, where the kids can run around and drop crumbs for the ants (not for me!)

A day of no children, no housework and a thai massage to squeeze out the knots and tension before going back to reality.

my mum would love a surprise visit from her children, which are strewn all across the globe. second choice are potted flowers for her garden, skyping on the day and organising a dinner in tandem with her partner with her favourite made to order cake for her (which we order and he picks up)

This mother wants to have every question she asks to be answered even if there are 20 in 5mins, her never ending suggestions (guideance I call it) taken with gratitude and deliverance. A lovely young lady for my son to encourage a move out of the spare(guests) bedroom and the money to pay a removalist to set up with the said young lady. Bliss, time to spend some passionate time with hubby without another set of ears in the house.
