A bit out of the way from central Adelaide is the SA charmer Patricia's at Port Noarlunga. A largeish restaurant that still manages to have a cosy feel, it is well-warmed in winter. My partner and I met there one July, and have returned many times since. The memories are great, and so too is the overall presentation of this stylish restaurant, with great food and a range of interesting wines by the glass and the bottle. If you want to cool off, a short walk away is the Port Noarlunga jetty, where fierce sou'westerlies can blow in - not that they cool us down much. Then or now.

Some of my favourite winter warming places are in Kings Cross. Both Aperitif and Libertine have roaring fires and are the perfect places to get cosy with a bottle of red and some delicious feel-good food. They are super stylish too without being pretentious so they are great restaurants to go to with a group of friends as well.
I also went to a delightful little restaurant called Hummingbird in Ultimo and it had a log fire as well. They serve up really yummy sharing plates. There's nothing better in winter!!

I love The Oxford Scholar in Swanston Street. It's nice and warm, and they have a lot of sports to watch on the screens.

I thoroughly enjoy visits to the C'Aphrodite restaurant/cafe in a corner of the Cremorne Orpheum building - great home-style Greek food, always delicious and accoumpaied by a warm welcome from the staff.
